PROJECTS

The main projects we take part are devoted to mathematical modeling of mass-transfer in living systems and cell culture.
MAGISTER: Finalized EU FP7 Large-scale project (NMP3-LA-2008-214685)
MAGISTER is a frontier research project aiming to develop new conceptually type of Magnetic Scaffolds (MagS) for tissue regeneration and orthopaedic surgery involvement of 20 partners.
Project successfully promoted a conceptually innovative idea introducing the notion of magnetic scaffolds (MagS) for tissue engineering and regeneration for the first time.

MADIA develops a versatile and cost-effective in-vitro tool for early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, the two most common neurodegenerative disorder worldwide, are debilitating and largely untreatable conditions that are strongly linked with age.

The PANBioRA consortium will provide a more intelligent way of selecting the most suitable biomaterial for potential implants.
PANBioRA aims at providing a comprehensive solution for the time- and cost-effective risk assessment of i) new biomaterials under health or disease states or ii) a given biomaterial for each patient in a personalized manner. It will standardize the evaluation of biomaterials and open the venue for pre-implantation, personalized diagnostics for biomaterial based applications
The main goal of the BOW project is to explore and consolidate the technology able to impart biological surface precision, circulation and targeting abilities of extracellular vesicle nanoparticles to superparamagnetic nanodevices
